Training for research leaders and PIs

You were promoted into running your own group on the strength of your research. Nobody asked whether you wanted to manage people and nobody trained you to do it. This is normal. Most PIs are figuring it out as they go and most are doing fine, but a structured space to work through the parts that don't come naturally is worth the time.

The hidden job of being a PI is leading a research team without burning anyone out, including yourself. Hiring well, running a 1:1, giving feedback that lands, deciding what to delegate, holding the strategic line through a funding pinch. Skills your PhD didn't teach you, that nobody else in your department has time to teach you either.

The training I run for PIs and research leaders is built on the same principle as everything else here: practical first, applicable the next day. We work through real situations attendees bring with them. Cohorts are typically PIs at the same career stage, which means peers, not strangers and the conversations carry on after the session ends.

Independent research leaders, fellowship holders and senior postdocs in equivalent roles are all welcome.
