Meet Jenny

For nearly 20 years, I've been helping researchers make sense of research life, whether that's building confidence, developing new skills or finding clarity when the path ahead isn't obvious.

The practice

Resourceful Researchers provides practical, engaging and immediately useful development for researchers.

Workshops are designed around the realities of research life, helping you leave with ideas, tools and actions you can apply straight away. There are no awkward icebreakers, no pressure to share personal experiences and no one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, sessions create space for reflection, discussion, and practical action, focusing on what's most useful and relevant to you.

The approach is supportive, encouraging and down-to-earth. I aim to help you think differently, discover what's already working, and feel more confident about your next steps.

About Jenny

Jenny Brady has spent nearly 20 years supporting researchers through the challenges, opportunities and occasional head-scratching moments that come with research and academic life.

Her background spans researcher development, coaching, enterprise education and Fellowship management, giving her a broad perspective on the skills, behaviours and mindsets that help researchers thrive in complex environments. Over the years, she has worked with researchers at every career stage, from new PhD students just starting out, to senior academics who are visible on a global stage.

Alongside the Resourceful Researchers development programmes, Jenny runs a coaching practice supporting thoughtful people who are navigating change in their working lives. Both practices are built on the same belief: development should be friendly, practical, evidence-informed, human and genuinely useful.

How we work together

Every researcher community is different, so we start with a conversation.

Tell me about your researchers, the challenges they're facing and what you'd like them to gain from the session or programmes. Together, we'll identify the most appropriate workshop, format and level of interaction.

Workshops can be tailored to different career stages, cohorts and institutional priorities. Everything is clear and transparent - no hidden costs or paperwork. Once everything is agreed, I'll take care of the delivery, creating an engaging, supportive and practical learning experience that helps researchers leave with ideas, tools and actions they can apply immediately.

Workshops for the realities of resourceful researchers

The current catalogue covers seven topic areas, each designed to address common challenges researchers face throughout their careers.

If you're looking for something more specific, let's talk. Many of the most effective sessions are created in response to the unique needs of a particular cohort, programme or research community. Whether you'd like to adapt an existing workshop, combine themes or develop something entirely new, I'm always happy to explore ideas.
