Training for PhDs and Early Career Researchers
ECR is a misnomer. A lot of people in ECR roles have been doing research for years, like junior doctors, the title outlasts the moment of being early. The questions don't get easier with time: imposter moments, productivity that survives a real workload, navigating a system that doesn't always make sense and figuring out where the career goes next.
The training I run for PhDs and ECRs is designed for mixed-confidence cohorts, mixed-discipline groups and the reality that everyone in the room is trying to do this on top of an already-full project. Sessions are practical, we work on what you brought with you, not on a generic curriculum and you leave with a small number of things you can actually try the next day.
Most often booked through DTPs, doctoral colleges, or research offices for cohort delivery. Individual PhDs and ECRs whose institutions don't currently book external training: get in touch, there are usually open-cohort options that work.
